Squat for Patient Safety 2026

Move with purpose this March. Take on 300, 1,000, or 2,500 squats and stand with people affected by avoidable medical harm. Every squat shows support for people and families rebuilding trust after avoidable medical harm — and helps AvMA be there for people when healthcare systems fall short.

Who we are

We are Action Against Medical Accidents (AvMA), the UK's leading charity for patient safety.

When avoidable medical harm occurs we are there to offer real families and patients the expert and honest advice that they deserve at the most difficult of times.

Like most people, we are passionately committed to the NHS and the values that underpin it.

We want it to be the best service it can be and with a just culture to match. And when it is not the best, we will not shy away from saying so and campaigning for improvements as we know that the people we support expect us to do that on their behalf.

This extends to private healthcare which also serves people we support and assist.

Our vision for what we want to see is a simple one: People who suffer avoidable medical harm get the support and the outcomes they need.
