I'm Taking on 50 Miles in May – For Patient Safety!

This May, I’m setting myself a challenge: to complete 50 miles in 31 days to support Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA)—the UK’s leading charity for patient safety and justice.

I’ll be walking, running, or wheeling my way through May to raise funds that help people affected by avoidable medical harm. Every mile I cover will help provide lifesaving advice, legal support, and patient safety advocacy.

Why Am I Doing This?

Too many people suffer harm due to medical negligence, and the impact on their lives can be devastating. AvMA is there for them, offering support, guidance, and fighting for safer healthcare for all.

By sponsoring me, you’ll be making a real difference—helping to ensure that no patient or family faces medical harm alone.

My Updates

Why am I taking part in 50 miles in May?

Wednesday 30th Apr
In January 2025 I started a new job, as a trainee solicitor, at a firm of Solicitors. For my first 'seat' (placement), I have joined the Clinical Negligence team and what an eye-opening experience it has been.

Naturally, starting a new career from scratch has been a huge learning experience, but what my eyes have been really opened up to is the circumstances that people can find themselves in following avoidable harm and the domino effect of hardships that can follow.

AvMA's goal is to ensure that people who suffer avoidable harm and get the support and outcomes they need.

Ultimately, they hope that this will reduce the cost - financial and human - to the NHS, which will benefit all of us in the long run.
